EDEN, N.C. — A Greensboro man was arrested in connection with a murder in Eden in late April, according to Lt. Clint Simpson with Eden police.
Rontae Devore Hayes, 37, of Greensboro, is charged with first-degree murder.
Larry “Bud” Alexander Settle Jr., 25, of Eden, was found outside of a home in the 600 block of Anderson Street around 12:20 a.m. on April 26.
Eden police said Settle died from apparent gunshot wounds.
On Monday, Eden police requested assistance from Greensboro police in apprehending Hayes.
Hayes was taken into custody on Tuesday by Greensboro police at his residence on Fewell Road.
Hayes was transported to the Greensboro Police Department for processing and later transferred to the Rockingham County Jail.
He is currently confined in the Rockingham County Jail with no bond allowed.
