Greensboro man arrested in connection with 13 car break-ins

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police arrested a man in connection with 13 car break-ins that happened last month.

Aaron Thomas Smith, 26, of 332 Burlingate Drive, is suspected of taking personal property from 13 unlocked vehicles on Buckhorn Road, Kettering Place, Glendale Drive, Radnor Drive, and Montrose Drive in nine separate incidents beginning on July 25.

Smith was taken into custody at his apartment on July 30 after police found stolen $5,000 in property from the vehicle break-ins inside the residence and were able to link Smith to the offenses.

Smith faces more than 40 criminal charges, including breaking and entering a vehicle, possession of stolen goods and other charges. He is currently confined in the Greensboro Jail Central on multiple secured bonds.
