Greensboro man arrested, charged with killing horse in Virginia

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Police in Chesterfield County have arrested a Greensboro man after he allegedly killed a horse at a farm in Virginia earlier this year.

The horse was shot and killed at a farm near the 11900 block of Winterpock Road in June. The horse was last seen alive on Saturday, June 29.

Last week, officers obtained warrants for Steven A. Dunn, 20, of Greensboro, for maiming or killing of livestock and reckless handling of a firearm in relation to the incident.

On Wednesday, police said Dunn may still be living in Greensboro. Police said he turned himself into police in Virginia on Thursday.

In July, a $1,000 reward was announced for the tip that led to an arrest in the case.

No other information was provided.
