GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro man was arrested after he allegedly burglarized and sexually assaulted college students earlier this year, according to a press release.
After an extensive investigation, police arrested 21-year-old Granderson Richard Murphy on Nov. 22 in connection with the crimes. Authorities believe they may have begun as early as August.
Evidence connected Murphy to two incidents on Spring Garden Street and another on Lindell Street.
Officers say he may be involved in additional break-ins around Hewitt Street. In some of those incidents, female students were inappropriately touched as they slept.
He is charged with attempted second-degree forcible rape, first-degree burglary, attempted breaking and entering and sexual battery. He’s in the Guilford County Jail on a $100,000 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
