Greensboro cyclist dies after being hit by car

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 51-year-old bicyclist died Thursday morning after being hit by a vehicle that turned into his path.

According to Greensboro police, Christopher Robert Fulp of Greensboro was riding his bicycle eastbound on Country Club Drive at about 6:15 a.m. when a 2004 Lexus collided with him. Fulp was taken to Moses Cone Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Lexus was driven by Thomas Gray Tilley Jr., 67, police said. He was travelling westbound on Country Club Drive, attempted to turn left toward Carlisle Road when the collision occurred.

Tilley has been charged with failure to see before turning and misdemeanor death by vehicle, police said.
