GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro celebrated its rich history in textile manufacturing -- more specifically denim -- on Wednesday.

Today was dubbed “Jeansboro Day” by the VF Corporation, which owns Wrangler.

The company held a large celebration today, complete with music and food, as well as city transit buses wrapped for the occasion.

Two NASCAR legends made an appearance as well, Richard Childress and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Earnhardt was presented with a life-size jean statue tribute.

Several other statues decorated by the public were also unveiled today.

They are part of an initiative announced last year to create 15 statues for display around Greensboro.
