COLUMBIA, S.C. — Two men tried robbing a barber shop at gunpoint, but a couple of concealed carry holders getting haircuts stopped them.
WIS reported that it happened after the suspects entered Next Up Barber and Beauty shop in Columbia, S.C. on Friday.
Several people, including children, were reportedly inside the shop at the time of the robbery. The suspects were filmed on surveillance video.
The suspects allegedly told several customers and barbers to get on the floor. Others were forced to stay in their chairs with their hands up.
When the suspects turned their backs, one of the men getting his hair cut reached into his pocket and pulled out a gun.
Columbia police said two of the victims were concealed carry permit holders and were waiting for the moment to strike.
The men shot at both suspects, hitting one of the men, who collapsed outside the business. He was pronounced dead after being taken to a nearby hospital.
Authorities said they are not sure if the second suspect suffered any injuries because he was able to escape from the scene. None of the customers were hurt.
