FLORENCE, Ky. — A grandfather and his two 13-month-old grandchildren were killed Sunday after a car struck them as they walked along the side of a road, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
A third child and an aunt were also hurt.
The family was walking at about 12:25 p.m., when the driver of a Chevy Malibu veered off the roadway and struck the two adults.
Charles Napier, 49, of Florence was pronounced dead at the scene. Sean and Samantha May, toddlers riding together in a wagon, also were killed.
Ethan May, a third grandchild, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Susan Elam, an aunt of the grandchildren, suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was not arrested.
There are no sidewalks on the stretch of road where the family was struck.
