Search engine giant Google changed its logo to the colors of the rainbow flag — or LGBT pride flag — along with quoting the Olympic Charter on their homepage Thursday night.
The 2014 Winter Olympics kicked off Thursday and has been shrouded in controversy in recent weeks, in part due to controversy over hosting the Olympics in Russia with their anti-gay laws and propaganda.
Google posted the following on their homepage from the Olympic Charter:
“The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play.”
When clicked on, the logo also links to search results for “Olympic Charter.”
