The 2015 Give A Kid A Coat campaign is entering its final week, and so far this season Give A Kid A Coat has received 11,061 coats.

A Cleaner World again offered an opportunity for area elementary schools to be involved in the Give A Kid A Coat campaign through a four-week coat drive which encouraged parents and students to drop off coats at A Cleaner World stores.

The School Challenge concluded on Nov. 7 with Piney Grove Elementary in Kernersville taking first place, Cornerstone Charter Academy in Greensboro in second place, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School in High Point in third place, Wentworth Elementary School in Reidsville in fourth place, and fifth place was captured by Southwest Guilford Elementary School in High Point.  Each school will receive a donation to their parent-teacher organization.

“Thirty-four elementary schools donated 1,381 coats through this special coat drive,” said Chris Edwards, president of A Cleaner World.  “Thanks to all the students and parents who participated in this challenge.  Because of your efforts, many more children in the Triad will have a warm coat this winter.”

To donate a coat simply drop off an outgrown coat or a coat no longer needed at the nearest A Cleaner World location. A Cleaner World will clean and repair the coats and then send them to The Salvation Army for distribution.

Families in need of coats can visit to check on distribution times and locations, which vary by city.

Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, The Salvation Army, FOX8/WGHP, 1075KZL, Rock92, and Campers Inn RV. This year’s campaign ends on Saturday, November 14, 2015.
