Georgia woman arrested after she dragged officer with car

STATHAM, Ga. — A Georgia woman is behind bars after she dragged an officer with her car before speeding off to elude arrest.

Police say 28-year-old Jessica Fox was pulled over for a traffic stop on Saturday and when Officer Marc Lofton tried to arrest her, she shifted the car into drive and sped off, dragging him and eventually running over his legs, according to the FOX 5.

Lofton was taken to the hospital and is being treated for a concussion and severe leg injuries.

After several days on the run, Fox was arrested Tuesday morning.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Fox is charged with fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement, aggravated battery on a police officer, aggravated assault on a police officer, speeding, failure to yield, driving on a suspended license and giving false name and date of birth to law enforcement.
