RALEIGH, N.C. – The Geminid Meteor Shower is expected to put on a dazzling show this weekend and it should be visible from North Carolina, weather permitting.
WRAL reported that the biggest meteor shower of the year is also expected to be visible during family-friendly hours.
There are several chances to experience the Geminids throughout central North Carolina and southern Virginia, according to WRAL.
WRAL posted some free events that will take place for the public to view the showers.
On Saturday, an event takes place at Staunton River State Park in South Boston from 8 to 11 p.m.
On Sunday, an event takes place at Little River Regional Park in Durham from 8 to 10 p.m.
On Monday, an event takes place at Ebenezer Church Recreation Area at Jordan Lake.
The best time to view the event will be Sunday night into Monday, according to WRAL.
