Udsntitled-19Experts say gas prices are expected to rise over the next few weeks, as the peak driving season and rising oil prices create even more pain at the pump.

Summer is the peak travel season and motorists usually see gas prices rise more and more, and national experts predict prices could increase another 10 to 20 cents over upcoming weeks.

Rising oil prices have been attributed to unrest in Egypt and offline production in Libya, though you can also blame low U.S. production. According to multiple reports, U.S. inventories showed an unusually large drop in production for a second week, making this the biggest two-week drop in inventory in 30 years.

According to Gas Buddy, prices in Greensboro bottomed out at $3.31 around July 6 and have been rising since. The trend is expected to continue. The national average for a gallon of regular gas is $3.54, while it’s $3.38 in Greensboro.
