A powerful cold front is crossing the Piedmont, which brought rain Tuesday and freezing temperatures overnight into this morning.

A Freeze Warning is in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Rainfall totals for the past 12 hours have been between 3/4″ and 1-1/2″ and additional rain will add another 1/2″ to 1″ to our rain gauges.

Unseasonably cold air poured into North Carolina, causing temperatures to plummet overnight.

Mostly sunny skies are ahead for Wednesday and temperatures will rebound nicely, into the mid-50s by afternoon.
