ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A Chick-fil-A in Asheville inspired a Facebook post that’s gone viral.

Carrie Chisholm and her son went through the drive-thru of a Chick-fil-A on the way home from the hospital Monday night.

“This world is so fast and hurried, and she could have just told me to move along,” Chisholm told WLOS. “But she saw a mom who looked so frazzled.”

When Chisholm got to window to pay, she couldn’t find her wallet.

That’s when the manager Matthew Hampton told the night crew to comp her meal, according to WLOS.

Hampton didn’t know Chisholm or her back story.

Earlier that day, Chisholm spent hours at the hospital fearing for her son’s life. Her son Hughes has a congenital heart condition and that morning she thought he was having a heart attack.

It turned out that Hughes only had strep throat, which Chisholm said was a huge relief.

After dealing with all that stress throughout the day, Chisholm said she can’t thank the Chick-fil-A night crew enough.

Since she posted a photo of the receipt documenting the free dinner to Facebook it has been liked more than 3,000 times.

“We’ve helped people out before but you never hear that [it] means anything to anybody,” Hampton told WLOS. “It makes me feel good that I was able to make her day better and special.”
