GASTONIA, N.C. – Four people from Ohio have been arrested after allegedly eating at a North Carolina Waffle House restaurant and leaving without paying.

The Gaston Gazette reported that Taylor Rose Temple, 21, Tori Temple, 23, Evan James Mulkey, 25, and Lawrence Alexander Hammond, 30, all face charges.

It allegedly happened at a Waffle House in Gastonia after the suspects arrived at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday and ate $77 worth of food.

Three of the four suspects left, leaving only one at the restaurant, according to the paper. The remaining suspect allegedly told an employee that the others were going to get money.

A server said the suspect took off running after a short time. The suspects were later arrested after police arrived and got descriptions.

They were jailed in Gaston County on misdemeanor charges of defrauding an innkeeper.
