Former Eastern Guilford High School teacher accused of sex offense with student

MEBANE, N.C. — A former teacher at Eastern Guilford High School has been charged with a sex offense with a student, according to Mebane police.

Dustin Graham Branch, 32, of Mebane, is charged with one count of sex offense with a student and one count of criminal use of trademark.

On May 29, Mebane police were notified by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office of an alleged incident that occurred at Branch’s residence.

The incident was alleged sexual activity between Branch and an 18-year-old female student. Police said the student was 17 years old when the alleged incident occurred.

On Friday at approximately 8:30 p.m., Branch was arrested by Mebane police.

Branch was placed in the Orange County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 8.

Police said Branch is a former math teacher at EGHS.
