GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Forest Oaks Country Club, the former site of the PGA’s Wyndham Championship, will reopen Thursday after it briefly closed this week when the company that manages the club filed for bankruptcy protection.

The Triad Business Journal is reporting the new management team was onsite Tuesday, but the team would not say the name of the firm. They would only indicate that they “work for Forest Oaks.”

The news comes just days after employees found a sign on the door explaining why the club was closed.

ES2 Sports & Leisure, the former management of the club, elected to file for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy protection.

“Effective April 15, 2014, Forest Oaks Country Club is closed until further notice,” the sign posted on the door read. “Further information will be available in the coming days via the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. Please direct all questions to the appointed trustee.”
