FAYETTVILLE, N.C. — Divers have found the body of a fisherman who fell into a pond over the weekend in Cumberland County.

The body of Bobby Porter, 38, was found around 11 a.m. Sunday in the pond off Seaham Drive in the Eastover community.

Divers had been searching the pond since someone reported seeing an empty boat on the water Friday night.  Porter’s vehicle was also found parked nearby with the keys inside.

Porter had set out to go fishing earlier in the evening, WTVD-TV reports.  His friends told the station that he lived nearby and went fishing in the same pond each day.

Porter’s death remained under investigation as of Monday.
