CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The first pieces of track for Carowinds new roller coaster, Fury 325, recently arrived at the park, according to WSOC-TV.

The teal swarm (teal) and stinger green (lime green) track is the first arrival of many in the next few months, arriving from a steel manufacturing plant in Ohio.

The ride in total will have 6,602 feet of track to make it the longest steel coaster in North America, according to Carowinds.

Scheduled to open spring 2015, Fury 325 is one of many improvements going on at Carowinds.

In addition to the new record-breaking coaster, improvements next year will include a main new entry, expanded park facilities, improved dining and live entertainment shows.

The amusement park along the North and South Carolina border opened in 1973. Fury 325 will be Carowinds’ 14th roller coaster.
