HIGH POINT, N.C. — A firm has reportedly been hired to study the possibility of constructing a convention center in High Point.

According to the High Point Enterprise, the boards of the High Point Partners and High Point Convention & Visitors Bureau have hired Strategic Advisory Group of Atlanta to assess the idea.

The groups are searching for ways to give the city a general economic boost.  Both groups say a “large, multipurpose meeting space” is “critical” to the city, the Enterprise reports.

The study will be completed by July 2014 and the cost will be less than $60,000, the paper reports.
