D’IBERVILLE, Miss. — A firefighter in Mississipi is receiving praise for the way he comforted a young child who was injured in a car crash.

Five people were ejected from an SUV when it left the road and flipped several times on Interstate 110, according to the Sun Herald.

As rescue crews were preparing to transport the adult driver and five children to the hospital, one firefighter went out of his way to comfort a young victim.

Firefighter Casey Lessard lay down beside the young victim and let the child watch “Happy Feet” on his phone.

“The kids … we do whatever we can to calm them down,” D’Ibervile Fire Capt. Darren Peterson told the Sun Herald. “The video calmed him down instantly.”

It is still unclear what caused the single-vehicle crash.
