Fire breaks out at Duartes Auto Sales in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A Burlington car shop went up in flames early Thursday morning.

Crews responded to the fire at Duartes Auto Sales at 1240 E. Webb Ave. at about 3:30 a.m.

By the time firefighters arrived, the flames had spread to several cars in the parking area.

Crews say no one was inside at the time and no one was injured.

The fire was under control in about 30 minutes.

The flames left behind about $125,000 in damage to the structure and $75,000 in damage to the inside.

The fire is under investigation.
