Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is set to end small car production in America and focus on building trucks and sport-utility vehicles, Fox Business reports.
The transition is expected to be complete by early 2017.
Sergio Marchionne, Chief Executive Officer of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, said Wednesday that ending production of the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart should increase profit margins in North American.
Truck, SUV and van sales jumped 9 percent during the first half of 2016, while car sales dropped about 8 percent.
After the transition, Fiat Chrysler will consist of Jeep SUVs and Ram trucks.
