Fayetteville man robbed in Burlington, 2 suspects sought

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are searching for two men in connection with the robbery of a Fayetteville man in town visiting a friend.

According to police, On Thursday shortly before midnight Reuben Augusta Johnson, 64, of Fayetteville, reported that he was assaulted and robbed.

Johnson said he was visiting a friend in the 900 block of Grace Avenue in Burlington and had just left the residence. Two men from inside the residents followed him as he left.

One man allegedly struck Johnson in the jaw causing him to fall to the ground and a second man took Johnson’s phone and money from his pockets. The two men then fled east on Grace Avenue.

Following an investigation, Burlington police were able to identify the suspects as Willie Thompson, Jr., 24, of Graham, and Barry Lee Foust, Jr., 24, of Burlington.

Both men are wanted for common law robbery and Thompson is additionally wanted for assault.
