CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Fans gathered to welcome the Carolina Panthers back home as they returned to Charlotte Monday after losing the Super Bowl.

The Charlotte Observer reported that hundreds of fans greeted the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium as they returned from California.

The team arrived Monday night. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton could be seen walking off the plane wearing headphones.

Fans gathered to greet them back, chanting “Keep Pounding” and holding signs that showed their support.

The Denver Broncos defeated the Panthers 24-10 Sunday for Super Bowl 50 from Santa Clara, Calif. It had been the first time since 2004 that the Panthers have been to the Super Bowl.
