FALLSTON, N.C. — The family of a woman who has been missing for 15 years will on Saturday retrace the steps they believe she took before she disappeared.
WSOC reported that Asha Degree’s family and loved ones will walk from her house in Fallston to the sign planted in the place where she was last seen.
Friday, Missing and Exploited Children officials released the latest age-progression photo of Degree. It shows Degree as a 24-year-old woman. Her parents haven’t seen her since she was 9 years old.
She walked away from her parent’s home in Fallston on Valentine’s Day of 2000. A trucker saw her several minutes later walking along Highway 18 near Shelby. Investigators believe she was abducted.
One year later, they found what they believe to be her backpack along Highway 18 south of Morganton. An extensive search failed to produce more clues.
