MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A disturbing photo that surfaced on Friday on social media has sparked a police investigation, according to WMC.

Memphis police are investigating after a photo that showed two children with their mouths and hands duct taped was posted to Facebook by user Jaton Justsilly Jaibabi.

The picture was captioned, "Kids For Sale 45% Off because they bad."

WMC blurred the children's faces but reports that tears can be seen in the oldest child's eyes.

Other state departments are investigating the photo as well, WMC reports.

The Facebook account of Jaton Justsilly Jaibabi is no longer active.

The woman's cousin, Derion King, said of the photo, "Basically a joke at the moment that people just went overboard about. People make mistakes and that's what this situation is, a lesson learned. They are safe, unharmed, and loved. That's all it is to it."
