RUFINO, Argentina — A pregnant 14-year-old girl was found dead, buried in her boyfriend’s backyard in Argentina.
Chiara Paez had been dating her boyfriend, Manuel Mansilla, for several months when she went missing in May, according to Buzzfeed.
Just three days after she went missing, authorities found her body in the backyard of Mansilla’s home.
Paez was eight weeks pregnant when she was beaten then buried alive after an apparent argument over the pregnancy.
According to Buzzfeed, Mansilla confessed to murdering her. He was also charged with forced abortion because of the drugs found in his girlfriend’s body.
The 14-year-old’s death prompted a social media movement to end “femicide,” or violence against women, across the world.
