EDEN, N.C. — The Eden Police Department is cracking down on a type of crowd you wouldn’t expect to find at the local mall — cats.
Capt. John Edwards said the Eden Mall has become the city’s feral cat hotspot, and area residents encourage it by feeding the homeless kitties.
But that’s against local law.
“If you’re charged — it’s a misdemeanor charge — you can be arrested for it, but most of the time, we write a citation for it,” said Eden Police Capt. John Edwards.
