GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Eastern Music Festival celebrates its’ 51st year Guilford College.
The 5-week classical music event is a combination summer camp and concert series. The nation’s elite, young classical artists meet to play with each other and world-renowned faculty from orchestras around the nation.
Jacob Jezioro is a double bass player from Nashville. This is his second year, and he’s a second-generation EMF participant. His father played the double bass there in the 1970s.
Jezioro said its a great way to spend the summer.
“Music’s what I love to do, and I don’t know what else I would do honestly,” Jezioro said.
The festival includes daily sessions with professional musicians, demonstrations and concerts from some of the best in the world.
“It’d be tough to do that all year round but it’s definitely a great thing to do over the summer because you don’t get bored at all,” said Jezioro.
Many of the concerts at EMF are free and open to the public but, some events require tickets in advance.
