CHICAGO – A Chicago woman related to professional basketball player Dwyane Wade was shot and killed on Chicago’s South Side Friday afternoon, according to WGN-TV.

Family members identified the victim as Nykea Aldridge, the mother of four children, and the first cousin of Chicago Bulls player Dwyane Wade.
Pastor Jolinda Wade, Nykea’s aunt, spoke to media outside the hospital Friday evening saying the family believes it was “senseless.” “We ask everyone to pray for us,” Wade said.
Wade tweeted Friday night saying:
My cousin was killed today in Chicago. Another act of senseless gun violence. 4 kids lost their mom for NO REASON. Unreal. #EnoughIsEnough
