Drug roundup leads to over a dozen arrests in Surry Co.

SURRY COUNTY, N.C. — A drug roundup being called “Manic Monday” led to the arrest of over a dozen people in Surry County Monday.

Surry County Sheriff’s deputies began rounding up 34 suspects who are charged with various drug offenses.

As of late Monday morning, 16 out of 34 people have been arrested. There is a total of 173 criminal drug violations.

This roundup is the result of several months of investigation and undercover purchases from each of the 34 suspects.

Narcotics Officers made undercover purchases of Methamphetamine, Cocaine Hydrochloride, Crack Cocaine, LSD and Marijuana.

Officers also made purchases of prescription medications such as Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Morphine, Oxymorphone, Percocet, Vicodin, Klonopin and Alprazolam.

Officers are searching for the remaining suspects.
