GREENSBORO, N.C. — Officers with the Greensboro Police Department say a van hit a tree Tuesday morning after the drivers of two vehicles began chasing one another.

The wreck happened at 618 W. Vandalia Road around 7 a.m.

According to Officer Amaker, the driver of a Dodge Caravan lost control, hit a tree and walked away from the scene.

The driver of the van wasn’t the owner of the vehicle, but knows the owner. That driver was charged.

The other vehicle involved in the wreck did return to the scene, according to Amaker. At this point, no charges are pending for that person.
