PELL CITY, Ala. — A 113-year-old smokestack fell onto a track hoe and its driver, who was tasked with tearing it down Tuesday morning, according to WBRC.

In a video of the incident, a woman can be heard over the crowd shouting, “Oh no! No no no no no no no!”

The driver of the track hoe, Tim Phifer, was not injured during the incident.

A city manager told WBRC that the back of the track hoe protected him until someone could remove the bricks that fell.

It took about two hours to bring down the former Avondale Mills smokestack, which was built more than 100 years ago along with a textile mill that once stood on the site.
