ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A man has been charged with driving while impaired after his tractor-trailer overturned and dumped cabbage all over a North Carolina highway.
WNCN reported that Kevin Eugene Ellis, 31, of Middleburg, Fl., faces charges of DWI, commercial motor vehicle driving while impaired and careless and reckless driving.
The incident was reported at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday in Nash County and backed up traffic for 10 miles, according to reports.
Crews arrived on the scene and cleaned up the spilled cabbage. The roadway reopened later in the afternoon.
The driver of the tractor-trailer and a woman who was in the truck with his were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
