CHARLOTTE — A vigil will be held in memory of Bianca Tanner, a former N.C. A&T student who police say was murdered last month in Charlotte.

A group of North Carolina A&T State University alumni will hold the vigil and discussion program 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Little Rock AME Zion Church on North Stonewall Street in Charlotte’s uptown.

Former N.C. A&T students who were members of fraternities and sororities started Greeks Against Domestic Violence, and the group says it is inviting the public to attend Wednesday evening’s program.

Both Tanner and the man accused of killing her, Angelo Smith Jr., attended N.C. A&T University.

Tanner disappeared in early June from her north Charlotte apartment. Her remains were found in a wooded area on July 3.
