GREENSBORO, N.C. — Dolly Parton’s kicks off her first North American tour in 25 years at the Greensboro Coliseum on Friday.

The North Carolina concert takes place where state lawmakers passed a measure which prevents transgender people from using their choice of public bathrooms.

And despite ongoing controversy over the state’s so-called “bathroom law,” the country legend says she has no plans of canceling her Greensboro concert.

“I think everybody should be treated with respect,” the country music legend said. “I don’t judge people. I try not to get too caught up in the controversy of things. I hope that everybody gets a chance to be who and what they are. I just know if I have to pee, I’m going to pee, I don’t care where it’s going to be.”

Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam and Demi Lovato are among the stars who’ve canceled shows in the Tar Heel state over the law, which many see as targeting transgender individuals.
