WENTWORTH, N.C. — Charges have been filed against the owner of a pack of dogs accused of contributing to the death of a man visiting Rockingham County from Mexico.
Daniel Douglass McCollum, 55, of 1122 McCollum Road in Madison has been charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter.
A grand jury issued the charges in Rockingham County Monday.
McCollum’s dogs have been held in the Rockingham County Animal Shelter since late November after deputies found 62- year-old Jose Cruz Cazares Robles’s body covered in bite marks at the bottom of an embankment across the street from McCollum’s home.
