CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte woman who was found dismembered in an abandoned car Sunday has been identified, according to WSOC.
The woman has been identified as Mara Garcia, 36.
The suspect, who was found dead earlier today from an apparent suicide, has been identified as 29-year-old Lenin Noel Turcios Corea, according to detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
Police said the two were involved in a romantic relationship and were living together.
Police said neighbors in the Woodland Hollow apartment complex spotted an SUV in the parking lot and smelled a strong odor coming from the vehicle. They called police, who found Garcia’s dismembered body in the trunk Sunday.
Today, detectives found Corea at the North Charlotte apartment complex off Country Side Drive, located one block away from where Garcia’s body was found.
Police have not determined a motive for the crime.
