Deputy shoots, kills suspect in North Carolina

UPDATE — The robbery suspect shot by a  Sampson County sheriff’s deputy has died, according to WTVD.

SALEMBURG, N.C. — A Sampson County sheriff’s deputy has reportedly been involved in a shooting with a robbery suspect near the intersection of N.C. Highway 242 and Reeda Branch Road north of Salemburg.

The deputy spotted the suspect and chased after him. Sources tell WTVD the chase ended where the shooting occurred and the suspect reportedly pointed a shotgun at the officer.
