GIBSONVILLE, N.C. — A man accused of shooting and killing his wife Saturday morning in Gibsonville has been arrested.

Scott Wendell Davenport, 48, of 241 Brightwood Church Road, was charged with first degree murder after deputies said they responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Brightwood Church Road around 12:12 a.m.

Deputies said Lisa Davenport was found dead from apparent gunshot wounds. 

Scott Davenport was placed in the Guilford County Jail under a “no hold” bond and has his first court date planned for Monday in Greensboro.

The investigation is ongoing and no other details were released.
