A passenger in the Accord, Vivian McCulloh, 62, was flown to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She is in stable condition, according to Capt. Sheila Lingle. The driver, Pamela McCulloh, 61, was taken to Novant Rowan Medical Center. Her condition was not available.
The driver was not injured.
Tutterow taught social studies at Davie High. She had two daughters, Caitlin, a graduate of Duke University, and Annalee, a student at Davidson College.
The staff at the high school told students about Tutterow’s death this morning, said Stephanie Koefoed, a spokesperson for Davie County Schools. Grief counselors and ministers will be at the school all day, she said.
