DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Police arrested a man Thursday for allegedly breaking into a residence in Linwood and stealing a firearm.

According to police, officers responded to the 400 block of Twelve Oaks Drive in reference to a breaking and entering call.

When officers arrived on scene they met with Jason Lee Ramsey, who said he had called the homeowners to advise them of their residential alarm going off.

The homeowners went into their residence and found that a 12-gauge shotgun was missing.

During the course of the investigation it was found that no alarm call was received from this address and the stolen shotgun was located in the vehicle being driven by Ramsey.

Ramsey, 25, of Linwood, was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering and felony larceny of a firearm.

Ramsey was confined under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court May 6.
