DANVILLE, Va. — Danville’s Goodyear plant is closing temporarily after another fatality.
According to GoDanRiver.com, Goodyear confirmed that a death occurred at the plant Tuesday morning. This marks the third fatality at the plant in the last eight months.
“Goodyear is taking this matter very seriously and will be temporarily closing the Danville plant to complete a full evaluation of the facility and thoroughly investigate the incident,” according to a company statement.
An on-site emergency response team is still working to determine what caused the incident.
The incident has been reported to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
