DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Today marks 13 years since the racing community lost a legend.

Dale Earnhardt was killed in 2001 when he wrecked his car during the final lap of the Daytona 500.

He died of blunt force trauma to the head.

For years, Earnhardt’s No. 3 car was taken out of NASCAR, but returns this year with Austin Dillon behind the wheel.
