JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Florida man was banned from a skate park after he was caught on video kicking his son down a skateboard ramp.

The incident was captured on video by another skater and posted on social media. The Florida Department of Children and Families is also looking into footage of the incident at the skatepark in Jacksonville.

The child, who is about 6-years-old, seems hesitant at the top of the ramp. The father is apparently upset with his impatient son and kicks him over the edge.

According to reports, the boy was okay and continued skating. However, the park's operator, Martin Ramos, asked the father not to come back "for a while."

“Unfortunately parents get so enthusiastic about their kids and their abilities and sometimes they take it a little too far,” Ramos told ABC News. “[The father] said he was just caught up in the moment, he seemed very remorseful, he certainly understands the gravity of the situation.”
