MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. — A custodian was arrested Thursday in connection with a bomb threat at Warren County High School.

School officials confirmed custodian Marlene Madewell was arrested in connection with the threat. She has been a custodian at Warren County High School since 2003.

The school was evacuated for the second day in a row because of a bomb threat.

A student reportedly found the threat on a bathroom wall on Thursday.

Students were kept outside of the school while police swept the building but were allowed back in around 12:30 p.m. after it was deemed to be safe.

Warren County Middle School was also evacuated due to the potential threat.

Students waited on the other side of the school’s football field as a bomb squads and K-9 units with the Tennessee Highway Patrol searched the school.

The Warren County School System said students were not believed to be in any danger but officials were following “proper procedure and protocol.”

School officials said if this is a joke, no one is laughing.

“My message is we’re not going to tolerate it,” said Bobby Cox, Warren County director of schools. “If it’s students or teachers, our sheriff’s department will find them and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.”

The school was also evacuated on Wednesday after a threat was found on the wall of a bathroom stall. Students were bused to the McMinnville Civic Center. U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais was scheduled to speak at the school on Wednesday, according to his staff, but that event was canceled before he arrived at the school.

A similar threat was posted at Jackson County High School on Thursday. Students were also taken outside while police searched the ground.

So far, nothing has been found at any school.
