WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Crowds gathered at a church in Winston-Salem on Monday to honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The 38th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration took place at Union Baptist Church. It is the oldest celebration in Winston-Salem and in North Carolina.

The keynote speaker was Dr. Gerald L. Durley, of Atlanta.
