YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. — A house that was under construction at Flint Hill Vineyards in Yadkin County was destroyed by a fire in the early morning hours Thursday.
According to the East Bend fire chief, the house went up in flames around 3:06 a.m.
The fire was contained to the house and did not spread to the vineyards. Crews say the fire was under control as of 5:45 a.m.
No one was in the house at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
The family arrived on the scene to assess the damage. Friends of the family say the family is extremely upset about the ordeal, as they were expecting to move into their new home in just two months.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
